o   The all-silver key opens ALL outside compartment doors

o   Black top, longer silver key runs the engine, one on Garfield keychain

o   Smaller gold keys lock both locks on main entrance door to RV

WATER

DO NOT drink campground water or water you have filled the RV tank with at anytime. Bring bottled water to drink. Here are the two ways you get water in the RV.

Method #1 - TANK FILLED WATER You will fill this tank up before you leave with the inlet close to the RV door that says Tank Fill.  Get out the water hose (in outside compartment labeled water hose) hook up to the water supply and put the hose loosely into this inlet. The hose will not screw on this inlet, it just goes a few inches into the opening to fill. When the water starts to come back out, you know it is full. Put hose away.

The ONLY WAY to use this water is to first, go to the Control Panel, inside the RV between the microwave and the frig, high on the wall. There is a toggle switch labeled WATER PUMP. Before you can use the water, you have to turn on the WATER PUMP with the toggle switch. Now you will have water pressure and can use the restroom, wash your hands, run water. As soon as you are done with the water, turn OFF the WATER PUMP.

RULE TO USE RV TANK OF WATER: TURN ON WATER PUMP / USE WATER /IMMEDIATELY TURN OFF WATER PUMP

Method #2 - CITY WATER HOOK-UP This method uses a hose that hooks up and stays hooked up to a water source at campground or a house. The hose has an elbow on one end, so hose doesn’t bend and cut off water and it has a pressure adjuster on other end to control the water pressure. This will give you continuous water WITHOUT using the water pump.

When hooking up water at a campsite, ALWAYS wipe off the water source with Bleach or Lysol wipes, that are in the RV under the sink.

Hook up hose end with pressure regulator to the water hook-up at campsite

Hook-up the other end of hose to the camper where it says City Water.

Turn on water faucets in RV to get air out of lines. You will now have water whenever you need it. Do NOT use the water pump when hooked to another source of water.

RULE TO USE WATER: WHEN HOOKED UP TO SPIGOT   DO NOT TURN ON WATER PUMP TO USE CAMPGROUND WATER

ELECTRICITY

There are two house batteries in RV. The ON/OFF Toggle Switch is by the door on the side of the sink. It has a green light when turned on. The blue circle on photo shows the ON/OFF Toggle Switch for the batteries. This will be ON most of time. The batteries will charge as you drive.

On the left side at the top is the awning switch for putting it in or out and another switch for awning lights off and on. Below those two switches, there is the switch to turn the house batteries OFF or ON. You can leave this ON most of the time, switch should be ON when you are parked and plugged in. If you are not plugged in, the plugs in the RV will not work, and the batteries will run down.

If you are not plugged in to 30 AMP service, the plug-ins and other electrical items will not work. Only the lights will work. If you aren’t plugged in, turn on the INVERTER – it’s also on Control Panel. With the battery ON, this will take the battery power and convert the power to be able to power the plug-ins and other electrical items. Use this when not plugged in, especially, to keep the frig cold. BUT DO NOT USE the microwave or the air conditioning unless hooked up to 30amp service.

In the outside compartment marked ELECTRICITY, is the plug to plug-in to the power at the campground. It is connected to a board which does not come out of the compartment. Find the other end and the SURGE PROTECTOR. Plug that end into the surge protector. Turn OFF the power to the pole that has the electrical hook-ups and then plug the cord into the pole. Then turn the power ON.

If it doesn’t come on, check the electrical hook-ups to make sure it hasn’t tripped. There should be a button to push in if this is the case.

Make sure Inverter is turned off when hooked up.

You might want to take off the surge protector if you have any problems.

Now, you are able to use whatever you need inside R and the house batteries should be recharging .

RULE TO USE POWER: If you are not plugged in to a 30 AMP campsite hook-up, do not use A/C or Microwave.

RULE TO USE POWER: Use INVERTER if not plugged in, turn OFF INVERTER when plugged in.

RULE TO USE POWER: You probably will NOT need generator.

CHECK TANK LEVELS AT TOP

FAR LEFT - Gas Water Heater SWITCH RED

ON RIGHT - Water Pump SWITCH RED

Generator Start on bottom

PROPANE

  • Propane is located on outside, on drivers side, second door from front, open to read level of propane in tank (photos on last pages)

  • Keep track of propane levels and refill as needed, a full tank can last two weeks depending on how you use it.

  • Heater runs on propane, it will automatically start once you turn thermostat ON. The thermostat is on wall between dinette and bed.

  • If plugged in to power, you can use little heater instead of propane.

  • Water heater runs on propane, and should start automatically once you turn the switch ON.

  • Turn water heater off as soon as you are done using it.

  • The Generator uses propane also.

     REFRIGERATOR

  • Only works on electricity, be sure the dial on the inside of the refrigerator is turned on to 7 to begin with. You can turn it down as it gets cold.

  • To use frig while driving or anytime NOT plugged into 30 amp service, you need to have battery button ON and the inverter ON. Once you are plugged into 30 amp service, you can turn off inverter.

  • If going short distances, use an ice chest and turn on refrigerator on arrival.

 DUMPING THE TANKS

YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DUMP THE TANK EXCEPT AT THE END OF YOUR TRIP-CHECK THE LEVEL OF THE BLACK TANK ON THE RV “BRAIN” IF YOU HAVE 3 OR 4 LIGHTS, IT NEEDS DUMPED

AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE FOR YOU FOR A FEE

NOTE: If you used Method #1 - TANK FILLED WATER At the end of your trip, if you have water in holding tank, please run water out through the sinks, toilet, and shower in order to empty this tank out, it will all go in the grey tank, so you can drain it. If there is no water in holding tank, ignore this.

  • Open the large outside storage area, last door on the drivers side

  • Put on gloves, there are some either in here or in water compartment

  • Open the large bin sitting right inside the door, then open the smaller bin inside of it and take out the drainage hose

  • Take the bin and place it under the drain outlet tubing (just in case)

  • With gloves on, take the main cap the dump tank off very slowly, there is a tool to help

  • Put on the end of the tubing and twist into place, make sure it is secure

  • Place the other end of the tubing -clear end- into the dump tank disposal opening

  • Next – Black tank is on the left, Gray tank is on the right under the RV

  • NEVER open both tanks at the same time, start with the Black Tank, then Grey Tank

  • The Black Tank handle is on the left, open:  twist and pull out

  • Make sure dump tubing is even, move it slightly to dislodge anything stuck inside

  • When nothing else is coming out, shut off black tank – push in and twist to close it

  • The Gray Tank handle is on the right, open:  twist and pull out

  • Always do the gray tank last, it cleans out the black tank contents from the dump tubing.

  • Put cap back on tank securely.

  • When done, if there is a water supply in area – run water through the tubing

  • Put tubing back into bin, bin back into storage.

This can be done for you for a $50 fee taken out of security deposit.

WINNEBAGO SYSTEM CHECK - SWITCHES and LEVELS

This is located on upper wall between microwave and refrigerator

This panel is high on wall between microwave and refrigerator.

1.    At the top of this panel is where you can check the levels of the batteries and the tanks (see below)

2.    In the middle of this panel: If using Water Method #1, Here is where you will turn on the WATER PUMP switch on. Do not use if using the City Fill Water Method #2.

3.    Next to that is the water heater switch. If you want to use the hot water, flip the GAS WATER HEATER switch. It takes a few minutes for the water to heat up. It runs off propane. Turn OFF as soon as you do not need hot water.

4. At the bottom, is the GENERATOR SWITCH and HOUR METER

AT TOP OF PANEL * CHECK TANK LEVELS

1. CHECK TANK LEVELS AT TOP

2. FAR LEFT -> WATER HEATER SWITCH RED

3. TO THE RIGHT -> WATER PUMP SWITCH RED

4. UNDER THOSE -> Generator Switch BLACK and HOUR Meter

As you press the buttons, the light above it will light up showing you:

E (empty)     1/3 (1/3full)     2/3(2/3full)     F(full)

You can check any of these items anytime. You can check the battery power also.

TIRES  Tire Air Pressure – The front tires are easy to check. The back tires need to have the metal rim popped off in order to fill the tires with air. The inside tire air inlet is very noticeable. The outside air inlet is exactly across from the inside tire outlet. You have to pop off rim and reach behind to be able to put in air.

Back tires should be at 65 PSI              Front tires should be at 65 PSI

GAS Tank is on the Driver’s Side - USE REGULAR GAS

HERE IS THE GAS TANK - ELECTRICAL CORD COMPARTMENT IS UNDER THAT

Thiselectrical plug-in and phone plug-in is under the table, on the bottom of the bench closest to the bed. It is one of the only plug-ins and under the round cap are the cell phone plug-ins. You will have to get under the table to plug in cell phone chargers to USB ports.

They did NOT put these in a very good place.

I plugged in an extension cord, laying on the bench, so you don’t have to get under the table to plug something in.

PASSENGER SIDE OF RV

The black round cap under the window is where water goes in to fill the fresh tank to use on your trip. You won’t use this if hooked up to a water source.

The CITY FILL is on the other side and that is where you will hook up to water source.

The first two storage compartments  along the passenger side are empty, you are welcome to store things in any of them.

The last one is not useable at this time.

 DRIVERS SIDE OF RV

In the very back is a large storage area. This is where items are carried for dumping the tanks.

Beside that is the small compartment where the electrical cord is stored. There is no lock on it, so be sure it is closed tightly when driving.

Above that is the gas tank.

The next compartment holds the water hoses. Above this is an inlet marked CITY FILL. This is where you will attach the one end of hose (hose stored in the compartment below) and attach the other end of hose to campground or other water source. Easy!

The middle of those three compartments on the other side of the tire, is the Propane tank, where the propane gets filled. It is on, you do not have to anything to it. You can check the propane level in here.

The last compartment, closest to the driver, is the generator. You shouldn’t need to use this, as long as you have electricity.

This panel is high on wall between microwave and refrigerator. At the top of this panel is where you can check the levels of the batteries, the fresh tank, the black tank, and the gray tank.

In the middle of this panel: If using Water Method #1, Here is where you will turn on the WATER PUMP switch on and back off as soon as you are done running water. Do not use if using the City Fill Water Method #2.

Next to that is the water heater switch. If you want to use the hot water, flip the GAS WATER HEATER switch. It takes a few minutes for the water to heat up. It runs off propane. In a pinch, you can heat up water with the coffee machine.

At the bottom, is the GENERATOR SWITCH and HOUR METER. If you have a place to plug in, you won’t need to use the generator.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the RV, anytime. My goal is for you and your family to have a wonderful time in the RV. Don’t hesitate to call or text me anytime.

The guidelines in this folder are basic but should cover what you need to know. The RV manual is also in the RV if you need it.

In the large back compartment there is a blue carpet you can unfold and put in front of the RV. There are chairs there, also. There is a game of Yard Yahtzee in a metal bucket. Instead of dice, there are large cubes that you would roll out of the bucket to play Yahtzee! Feel free to play!

Thanks so much!

REPEAT: CHECKING INTO THE CAMPGROUND

There is information you will need when making reservations at a campground, and then checking into the campground. You should ALWAYS call ahead for a reservation. Here is what you need to know with this RV.

RV Information: 2019 Winnebago Outlook 25j -  License Plate: 412 653 RV

27 feet long   -   30 AMP  -     Ask if they have a pull-through lot (no backing in)

When you get to the campground, find the office and check-in. You may have some paperwork. A private campground will even take you to your site and help you get settled. If it is a state park, you may have checked-in online and have a site number, drive around to find that site. There may not be an office.

You will have to decide if you want to pull in or back in. Do whichever gets your door closest to picnic table and fire area, and so that your biggest windows have the best view. Also keep in mind where your hook-ups are and where they are on the RV, so that they reach. After you are parked, be sure to use emergency brake and put the orange chocks behind two of the wheels.

Next: Open the electricity door and get out the cord and the surge protector. Hook the surge protector to the end of cord, and plug it in to the power supply on your site. Watch the surge protector, it will tell you if the power is on.

Next: Take the water hose (it’s new) out of the water hose compartment. Wipe down the end of the site water supply spigot with disinfecting wipes. Then hook one end of the hose up to the supply spigot and the other end to the CITY FILL opening on the RV, it should screw on and not leak. Now you are set for water.

Next: In the large compartment to the very back are a lot of things you can use. There is a blue rug made to be put in front of the RV. There are also at least 3 chairs in there to take out and set on rug. There is an Outdoor Yatzee Game and other things to get out and use, if you want.

You can also put out the awning. The IN/OUT switch for awning is right above the battery switch. There are lights with the awning – the switch for the lights is beside the IN/OUT switch. Check for branches before putting out RV awning. Do not use awning if it is windy.    YOU ARE SET!!
